More Information

This workshop allows students to learn the traditional screen printing method with uninterrupted focus from the teacher. It involves applying a light-sensitive emulsion to a screen, exposing it to light with a design, and then washing away the unexposed emulsion to create what is essentially a stencil. This method provides a deeper understanding of the screen printing process and allows for more intricate designs, and with no other students to watch, we are able to create multiple screens in one session for you. These multiple screens can be used for different designs, or for a multi-color design.

The price of this session covers the cost of two screens. Additional screens can be used for $10 each. Please let me know how many screens you would like to use so that I can have them ready.

All supplies are provided! All you need to bring is yourself and a design. Additionally, you are allowed to bring up to two items of clothing to print on but this is optional as I have fabric available for printing.

Design Specifications

In order to print your design(s) onto the screen(s), we'll need to work together to create positives. A positive is an opaque, black ink print on transparent or translucent film. There is a printer in class and plenty of transparency sheets, but your design(s) need to be prepared beforehand.

Additionally, the level of detail we are currently able to achieve is not photo-realism. We can absolutely do more complicated designs than the Handmade Workshop, but some thin lines are not currently possible. To see an example of the level of detail that is possible, watch this instagram reel.

The screen we are working with is 10 x 8 inches, which translates to 2400 x 3000 pixels with 300 Dots-Per-Inch (DPI). The higher quality your design, the clearer it will come out.

Please email me at to make sure your design is ready, or with any questions you might have.

Awesome screen printing session for a newbie!!

I booked Billy for a fully-supported DIY session and had an awesome experience!! I came in with a couple designs and only some YouTube videos under my belt and came out with 2 new t-shirt designs and feeling empowered to do more!! Mission accomplished 🤘🙂. Billy did a great job guiding me through all of the steps and answered my numerous questions along the way. If you’re thinking of doing a class you definitely should, I had a great time!
