PDX SCREEN PRINTING WORKSHOPS
Billy Ghoul's screen printing class offers two great methods for beginners to explore this unique art form. The first method, the full emulsion process, allows students to learn the traditional and professional technique. It involves applying a light-sensitive emulsion to a screen, exposing it to light with a design, and then washing away the unexposed emulsion to create what is essentially a stencil. This method provides a deeper understanding of the screen printing process and allows for more intricate designs.
However, for those looking for a simpler and more accessible option, Billy Ghoul also teaches an at-home version using embroidery hoops and Mod Podge. This method is perfect for beginners or those who want to try screen printing without investing in expensive equipment. With just a few materials, students can create unique and personalized prints.
Whether you're interested in the full emulsion process or the simplified at-home version, Billy Ghoul's screen printing class offers a fun, creative, and accessible way to learn this art form.
