More Information

This workshop allows students to learn a cheaper method of screen printing (for those who don’t want to deal with emulsion). This method involves wooden embroidery hoops and mod podge.

All supplies are provided! All you need to bring is yourself and a design. Additionally, you are allowed to bring one item of clothing to print on but this is optional as I have fabric available for printing.

This event is seeking a new location host. Until then this class is on hold.

Design Specifications

The hoop we are using as a screen has a 5 inch diameter. It is wise to size your design with a 4 inch diameter, as filling the entire screen with design makes printing very difficult.

Classes run smoother if you have a simple design in mind. Your design does not need to be prepared beforehand, but it's important to keep in mind that we will be hand painting our designs directly onto the screens, so the simpler the design the more likely you are to finish before class is over. Students often pick symbols, pronouns, or leaves/flowers, and I have examples available in the classroom as well. Once you see the process all the way through it becomes much easier to visualize other possible designs.

Please email me at class@habitgallery.com with any questions you might have about your design.
